The Alii sits at 50 Nohea Kai Drive on about 8 acres of oceanfront grounds. The concrete buildings were completed in 1982, with 264 condos in four buildings on up to 11 floors. Alii means Hawaiian royalty, and the name fits the size of these units, which are some of the most generous one and two bedroom layouts on the beach.
Views range from garden and West Maui Mountain views to full ocean views framed by Lanai and Molokai. There's an adult pool and a children's pool, hot tubs, tennis courts, a clubhouse next to the BBQ area, a fitness and yoga center, on site security and management, and roughly 330 assigned parking stalls, which matters in Kaanapali. The association has updated the property several times, including rooftop solar panels.
It's a short walk down the beach path to Whalers Village. The Alii also sits near the point where, on the right swell, you'll find surfing, stand up paddling and bodyboarding.
