About Makena Golf & Beach Club
We've met with the Makena Golf & Beach Resort marketing team at Discovery Land Company here on Maui. It was good to hear that their staff is willing to work with local buyer's agents, like us, who represent buyers looking at world class real estate in Makena.
Discovery describes ownership here as an heirloom property, with use rights that can pass down through the family. Owners have been offered a one time chance to join the private club, with an option to opt out.
Club amenities described to us include two 18 hole golf courses originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., conservation trails, custom outdoor adventures like scuba diving, snorkeling and horseback riding, tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields, a community garden, a beach club and a general store.
The original real estate plans shared with us included about 12 hillside villas of three to four bedrooms, 9 beach cottages, around 50 oceanfront condo residences of roughly 2,500 to 5,600 square feet, and 8 Maluaka homesites of about a half to three quarters of an acre near the beach club, spa and golf. Plans change, so ask us what has actually been built and sold.
