Many Maalaea complexes sit right on the water, so ocean views are common and salt air is part of daily life. Ask about concrete, railing and seawall repairs.
Wind
Maalaea is one of the windiest spots on Maui, especially in the afternoon. Lanai orientation and wind protection matter more here than almost anywhere else.

For a lot of people, yes. It's quiet, central and close to the harbor. The tradeoff is the wind and fewer shops and restaurants within walking distance.
