Few places in the world are more sought after than the homes, condos and land tracts on the West side of Maui! The real estate that is bought and sold here is some of the most expensive (price per square foot or per acre) than anywhere else in the United States (or the world for that matter.) Why? It's West Maui. Far from the reaches of busy Kahului, the airport and the "first time" masses in Kihei, this area is quick frankly a couple notches above. The lonely beaches you enjoy driving right next you on your way from the "Pali" Mama's Surf Break through to Launiupoko Beach park is just a preview of what life is like on "Lahaina Side" It's a microcosm of Paradise. A place where every sunset last just a little longer, has more radiant orange and the surf, sand and Pacific Blue are just that much perfect. One big reason is the West Maui Mountains (officially Kahalawai) protect this town from the blasting trade winds and persistent rains of the "other side" It's the place the Alii (Hawaiian Royalty) choose out of the ENTIRE island chain to call their vacation spot. Think about that! Lahaina...it holds a special place in my heart, and always will.
