Buying a Home in Lahaina Today
Buying in Lahaina takes a few more questions than it did before the fire.
Rebuild and Permit Status
Ask whether a home came through the fire or is new construction, and read the permits either way. On a rebuilt home, look for the building permit, the final inspection and any County rebuild conditions.
Insurance
Get insurance quotes before you commit. Coverage and pricing on the west side have changed since the fire, and quotes can vary a lot from one home to the next.
What Survived and What Changed
Some neighborhoods came through the fire while others are still largely vacant lots. Drive the street, look at what's around a home, and ask us what we know about nearby rebuilds.

Lahaina was the capital of the Kingdom of Hawaii in the first half of the 1800s and later a center of the Pacific whaling trade. That history is a big part of why people love this town and why so many are committed to rebuilding it.
