Kahana is the stretch of West Maui coast between Napili and Honokowai, lined with oceanfront condo buildings, several of them taller than anything else nearby. Many units look straight across the channel to Molokai and Lanai. The shoreline is a mix of reef and small pockets of sand, so it's more of a lanai and pool setting than a long beach walk.

Oceanfront Buildings
Kahana has a lot of true oceanfront inventory for the price. Building age, concrete repairs and seawall or shoreline work are worth asking about on every one.
Views and Floors
In the taller buildings, the floor and the direction a unit faces change the view and the price. A higher floor facing Molokai usually sells for more than a garden level unit in the same building.
Dues and Assessments
Oceanfront buildings carry bigger insurance and repair costs. Read recent board minutes and ask whether a special assessment has been discussed.
Rentals

The Maui MLS files Kahana, Napili and Honokowai as one area, Napili/Kahana/Honokowai. We use that exact area so no listing is left out, and the address on each one tells you where it is.
Is there a beach in Kahana?
There are small sandy spots, but much of the Kahana shoreline is reef and rock. Napili Bay and the beaches in Kaanapali are a short drive away.
Are Kahana condos cheaper than Kaanapali?
Often, yes, for a similar ocean view or oceanfront unit. Kahana buildings tend to be older and have fewer resort amenities, which shows up in the price and sometimes in the dues.
