Most likely Channel House was named after the Auau Channel between the island of Lanai and Maui. Humpback whales migrate about 3,500 miles from Alaskan waters and spend the winter months in the protected waters of this channel. Auau means to bathe in calm bath-like conditions. So it is with Channel House nestled in the heart of the Mauis protected jewel, Historic Lahaina Town.
Channel House is a one-acre apartment style complex of four two story buildings of 39 total units built in the late seventies. There are two efficiencies, 1 bath, 315 to 324 square feet; 2 one bedroom one bath units 556 and 542 square feet; and four two bedroom two bath units with 791 to 800 square feet.

Today, Lahaina is on the On the National Register of Historic Places and one of the Top Ten Greatest Streets with the U.S. Seamens Hospital, Hale Paaho (Lahaina Prison), the Pioneer Inn, and dont forget to visit Mauis oldest living banyan tree right next to the harbor. There are many nearby public beach parks and trails. Enjoy hiking, surfing, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, boating, scuba diving, and whale watching - all just a few steps and sometimes a short drive from Channel House.
Channel House is a leasehold property making it one of easiest complexes to buy at an affordable price in the prized West Maui real estate corridor. It may be rented on a long-term basis but is not approved for short term vacation rental.
