Most likely Channel House was named after the Auʻau Channel between the island of Lanai and Maui. Humpback whales migrate about 3,500 miles from Alaskan waters and spend the winter months in the protected waters of this channel. Auau means to bathe in calm bath-like conditions. So it is with Channel House nestled in the heart of the Maui’s protected jewel, Historic Lahaina Town.
Channel House is a one-acre apartment style complex of four two story buildings of 39 total units built in the late seventies.
