Hawaii has hit a new ALL TIME record for the sale of a single family home! $46,100,000! The most expensive home in Hawaii closed November 9, 2018 for a record $46.1M. The property was listed for $70M and was on the market for 535 days. Located on sandy beach front, the massive, 11,708 square foot features 6 bed, 8 baths and is perched on 15.3 acres of land. The physical address is 2676 East Kauapea Rd. Kilauea on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. It has been rumored to have been purchased by a billionaire sports team owner from the U.S.

The previous record for most expensive home ever sold in Hawaii was held by Maui when 4446 Makena Alanui Rd. closed for $41.7M on April 7, 2015.
Since the real estate crash of 2007, Hawaii has seen 17 homes close at $20M or more in price, for a total sales volume just under $400M.
Big Island and Maui still lead the pack though for total number and overall sales volume of $20M+ homes that have sold since 2008, followed by Kauai and Oahu.
